The City of Coral Gables is committed to regular, accurate and open communication with our residents and businesses. We reach out to inform in many ways, ranging from split-second notifications to a seasonal magazine in your mailbox.

To receive emergency information, especially now during Hurricane Season, citizens can receive direct alerts from the City of Coral Gables through the following ways:

  • Code Red: As a subscriber, you’ll receive critical alerts via phone, text or email in the event of emergency situations when a life threatening event impacts the community. To subscribe visit www.CoralGables.com/PublicSafety. (Reach: 21,605 subscribers).
  • City Mobile App: The City of Coral Gables has a mobile app that is capable of sending emergency alerts and notifications to subscribers via smartphones. To download it on your smartphone, visit www.CoralGables.com/CityApp.
  • In-telligent App: A new mobile notification system for public safety that delivers emergency alerts to subscribers in a geographic area. Subscribers receive a text form the City on their smart phones. To download this app, visit www.CoralGables.com/in-telligent.
  • Special e-News & Special Facebook Posting: We’ll send emergency alerts through a Special e-News issue or a special Facebook posting such as traffic alerts or any public safety activity that needs your attention. When you receive alerts, we ask that you share with your family and friends as much and as soon as possible.

The city has plenty other ways to communicate non-emergency information through e-News, social media and a seasonal magazine.

  • Living in the City Beautiful magazine: Residents of Coral Gables receive in the mail a free subscription of the Living in the City Beautiful magazine. This magazine is published three times a year and contains helpful information about important news and projects you’ll want to know all about.
